It is becoming increasingly common to hear life scientists say that quality scientific findings rely upon quality animal care. This research project asks how and why animal care is being made an explicit part of scientific knowledge production today, in the context of translational medicine. It uses field analysis to map the evolution of animal care within biomedical research.
The project is funded by a New Investigator Award from the Wellcome Trust. The Principal Investigator is Dr Carrie Friese, Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology at LSE. The research is being conducted from January 2015-December 2019.
